Banging on?

Time is on the side of nationalists pushing for Scottish independence, Nicola Sturgeon said, adding that denying Scots a referendum would be “unthinkable”.

Forcing one through against the will of the 55% is even more unthinkable.

James Davis I thought another referendum was inevitable – just when – but to suggest it is being denied as a principle is false.

Martin Reynolds Please Westminster, give this woman her referendum to shut her up. Sick to death of her banging on about independence

Jean Crane

Well said. But if she gets a No vote she’ll just bang on and on about another referendum.

Angela Mcdermott

That is the solution… call her bluff and give her a referendum, which she doesn't actually want and certainly wouldn't win.

Calum Macleod We have all ready said No and if we dare defy her again (which we will) she has said she won’t rule out a third referendum.

Robert Dalgleish

S he’s had her referendum.

Iain Mceachran

Go away please, Scotland needs better representation.

Raymond Scottie Pritchard

Deal with the Covid legacy first! Priorities all wrong again with the SNP!

Mark Flett Nae chance, get indy done, then we can deal with Covid more efficiently when we're independent.

Ricky Pearson Nicola Sturgeon and the SNP have made themselves a hostage to fortune by declaring recently that there would be a second referendum by the end of 2023, which in political terms is not that far in the future. The Supreme Court decision [this week] was a huge setback to their plans for a legal, and internationally recognised "wildcat" referendum, and all sides involved know it.

Anna Mosspaul Get it done ASAP and free Scotland from Westminster for good.

David Neilson Time is on her side… she and her party have a generation (25 years or so from 2014) to demonstrate through their actions that they truly care about ALL Scots, not just Scottish Nationalists, and can use Scotland’s current extensive raft of devolved powers effectively. Until they do that, how are we meant to believe that they could possibly run an independent country?

Cameron Macleod

You don't have to believe the SNP can run anything. All you have to believe is Scotland can.

James Thomas Kilpatrick

Excuse me, we have had our referendum, we answered, no thank you.

Gordon Harvey

That was based on totally falseinformation! Be different next time!

John Robertson

Ye s definitely – as it turned out oil revenues were one-tenth of the amount predicted. We would have been up the creek if we had voted yes. We had a referendum. The majority of Scots said No. Keeping o n repeating it is unthinkable to the majority of us.

Caroline Currie

Don't hold your breath. There won't be another one.

Mamie Logan Brown

Independent? Don't make me laugh! This mob can't even control the local councils to get the piles of rubbish cleared from the streets! Enough with the vanity projects and get back to reality.

Stuart Harbourne

Referendum on what? Perhaps it's time the SNP came up with a credible, workable, costed plan. Scots aren't gullible fools and many feel they have more in common with the other inhabitants of these islands, rather than seeking to emphasise any differences.

Peter Lewis

Unfortunately, too many are a bit gullible.

Nancy Graham

I have never understood why the SNP haven’ t made S cotland into a Utopialike state. Surely making S cotland excellent in every aspect would actually turn the tide of support? Instead of either intentionally running S cotland into the ground and blaming W estminster or showing that they are in fact totallyinept.fourteen years of literal failure surely needs a change in tune.

Herman Niederheed Blah blah blah blah blah its getting boring. How about fixing the things that you've ignored. Like Education, Law & Order, the NHS to name but three o f the many area s that have gone backwards under the SNP.

Graham Kinnear

She does realise there are other more important issues to focus her attention on? Absolute one-trick pony.

CR Ronald

The Democratic vote denier aka Sturgeon/snp.
