Oxfam has withdrawn a Wonder Women bingo game honouring women’s achievements from sale after 'concerns raised by trans and non-binary colleagues'. The game ‘deadnamed’ actress Ellen Page, who has become Elliot Page since the game was made.

@martmart123 wrote: “So we can't celebrate one person’s achievements in case it offends another person? I'd better not shop in Oxfam any more, in case it offends the Heart Foundation shops.”

@raychilled wrote: “They really are trying to eradicate women, aren’t they?”

@mforstater asked: “Will Oxfam similarly remove staff members who don't think men can become women?”

@thesaoirseblog tweeted: “Things like this make me proud to volunteer at Oxfam. You know you're doing the right thing when you're annoying the right people.”

@jamesbarry1789 said: “It will come as a surprise to precisely nobody that @ Stonewalluk advises @ Oxfam."

@Lostinfilms added: “Seriously, so now women biologically born women can't be celebrated in case it ‘upsets’ the latecomers. Oxfam really, letting minority of bullies intimidate you into cancelling wonder women achievements. Women have to fight for everything, now it's their identity being erased.”

#LIVINGWAGE

The BBC reported that the UK National Living Wage is set to be raised to £9.50 an hour, from £8.91 an hour, in tomorrow’s budget.

@bigbippitystrop wrote: “Considering they pledged £10.50 an hour in the general election? The increase to universal credit basically cancels this out.”

@Scottmi rplied: “Yes, the temporary Universal Credit increase has been stopped. It was only a temporary measure! Difficult as it is, it was only temporary, just like furlough support during the pandemic!”

@pw_thunder wrote: “Until they sort out house/rental prices to align better with wages it’s irrelevant how much they increase wages. Retailers will cut staff/ increase prices. House and rental prices will keep increasing. Wouldn’t matter if they raised by £2-£3 per hour. Same result.”

@bittieat tweeted: “Let’s pay the MP minimum wage, no expenses, no subsidised booze or meals. Let’s see how quickly the minimum wage goes up.”
