COP26

The UN Climate Change Conference, COP26, finally kicked off in Glasgow. Television naturalist David Attenborough urged world leaders to "turn this tragedy into a triumph... we are after all the greatest problem solvers to have ever existed on Earth".

@mtc_lonon tweeted: “There is no reality that the planet is dying. #COP26 is a guilt trip conference. Most of the claims apply in 30 years’ time. They often talk about the crisis in 2050, but what about 2021 with million of families paying the highest energy tariffs and duty imposed on them?"

@an_collins wrote: “Sad thing here is no one is willing to come out and say it, that the planet is over populated – not even Attenborough, even though the Netflix documentary he did stated that.”

@elijah852 replied: “We aren't overpopulated. We are too irresponsible and greedy.”

@ahdidyo said: “It is a tragedy that this great man is appealing to the better nature of the very people who have none.”

@georgewalker18 wrote: “Tell China and tinpot countries like that. We're nowhere near polluting the world as much as certain countries. Tell them to get their house in order.”

@royclarke567 added: “We create more problems than we solve. He knows the only problem that needs solving now is overpopulation.”

@randomlettering wrote: “I think the problem solvers have been giving solutions for decades. There's just no money in it for those at the top.”

@dlwuk wrote: “400 private jets for this event, do as they say, not as they do. They should be leading by example.”

@sakpand said: “The truth today is that we are on the same boat and this boat is sinking, as we ignored the hole in the boat which was created by developed nations. Now these nations want developing and poor ones to repair it, who cannot do much but increase the hole.”

@ybawife said: “Think he has been pushing this message without analysis of what it is that is scuppering progress.”

@joepublic1968 tweeted: “I think the animals are better than us, mate, us as in the leaders.”

@coinbullishish wrote: “Meh, he's a TV presenter not a Nobel prize-winning scientist.”
