Bridge of sighs

-

Plans for a £20bn bridge linking Scotland with Northern Ireland has been scrapped despite years of vocal support from Boris Johnson.

The SNP'S Ian Blackford said the money previously earmarked by the bridge proposal should now be split between Northern Ireland and Scotland. So can Ian Blackford tell us where the money that was earmarked for Scottish Government projects that have failed to appear is, and what they are planning to spend it on?

Anna Mosspaul Roundabout under the Isle of Man still on?

LIZ Rae

The only people who thought this was a goer were people who did not know the area, and the gullible. I think its Victorian equivalent was the plan to build a railway between Cape Town and Cairo.

Robbie Craig

It din't take a feasibility study to know that building a bridge there was impossible. Johnson was told that right from the beginning.

Patricia Anderson

It was over as soon as he punted the idea. On paper, it’s a decent idea. In reality, its not.

Susan Macdonald

M illions spent to reach the conclusion we all knew, even Boris, but his mates the Tory graphics designer s, engineers and consultant s made a fortune at Scotland's expense. Our money spent on our behalf and added to our so called “debt ”. W e need independence now.

Bert Petrie

Over? The man is a pathological liar. It was never on the cards to begin with!

Stephen Livingstone He won’t be far behind the bridge idea too.

David Joyce

Oh, another broken promise.

June Price

He didn't actually promise a bridge. They looked into it. Non- starter. So nothing broken about it.

Paul Bonarius-mcfadden Like it was ever going to be built.

Paul Mcmungall

It was never going to be built anyway. Another vanity project, just like his "Boris buses" in London.

Steven Oliver

Silly idea anyway!

Margaret Mccormack

Boris is now toast... and that's just what Tories think. Does anyone remember his comment from the summer that he wanted to be PM for 10 years? He has more chance of winning Miss World.

Joe Mcjoe

He'd have to get a new stylist.
