#COVID

The United Kingdom has seen a recent r ise in Covid cases and hospital admissions after numbers had been falling steadily since the wave of Omicron cases in January.

@pssycats5 tweeted: “Of course it hasn't gone away… w e are learning to live with it, like every other known virus, now. People will get sick and a very few, may need hospital, but this is life, not a pandemic, anymore.”

@sciship added: “Agree. Instead people should focus on how to improve their overall conditions, health. This should go without saying, but here we are.”

@xyz636 wrote: “Obviously. Since when has ignoring a problem ever made it go away?”

@Mmcpake said: “I had it last week. Felt like a mild hangover, no need to panic.”

@wendybloo disagreed:

“As someone jabbed and boosted, it’s a nasty, vicious virus, so anyone thinking they’ll get a mild cold, there’s no guarantee, you could have a fluctuating temperature , cough, loss of taste/smell, lethargy, aching limbs and feel grotty.”

@oganwald wrote: “The numbers of cases haven't been ‘steadily dropping’ since January, the courage of the government to stand up to anti-maskers and the CEO classes has.”

@dalbinho7 wrote: “They need to update the symptoms. I had it last week, mainly a sore throat and fatigue, but I didn’t have a cough, temperature or loss of taste/smell.”

@quantumatentcy wrote: “Yes, everyone has got a heavy cold. Get over it.”

@Viforsaken said: “I thought Putin cancelled Covid.”

#MCDONALDS

Fast food giant Mcdonald's are rationing tomatoes in some burgers due to shortages, with the Russian invasion of Ukraine being one factor quoted.

@corvus_watcher rote: “Mcdonalds are running short of tomatoes and are rationing them... well if they only use the end bits, of course they're going to run out!”

@euphrosene wrote: “This is something that can and should be grown here.”

@mentorscotus tweeted: “I like the idea of hanging tomatoes all round Mcdonalds and plucking one off to wash for the customer. I once saw a place in Austria where they used a double decker bus in a field for Mcds. They had window boxes round all the window.”
