MPS have approved a plan to open an investigation into whether the Prime Minister misled the parliament on lockdown parties. The investigation is expected start after the publication of the Sue Gray report.

@Taifunkchichris said: “If he's found guilty and held in contempt of parliament it could trigger a recall vote in his constituency. So potentially he'd not only lose his job as Prime Minister could also lose his seat as an MP.”

@Marcooni posted: “Good job there is nothing happening anywhere else in the world.”

@Nugget48 responded: “Still with this? If the French can carry on with their Presidential election, I'm sure the UK can manage this. It can't just be swept under the carpet.”

@SE7ENXII commented: “Could this get any more dragged out? Anyone with half an ounce of self respect or decency would’ve walked weeks ago.”

@bluejohn68 agreed: “Indeed, but the person in question, doesn't have either of those things.”

@stevebishop92 warned: “Conservative MPS will face a grassroots backlash if Boris is removed. They do not understand how popular he is with the rank and file.”

@Sailor_charliek remarked: “He'll return from India as a prospective backbencher. His status as theteflon PM is coming unstuck”

@skisoceanran suggested: “Why does he care? He broke his own law and didn’t resign. If this inquiry finds he did mislead parliament he’ll say whoops, I didn’t realise, let’s all forget about it, and as long as his own party support him there’s nothing more that can be done.”

@lee_penny_2702 said: “What a great use of funding.… You would think they would be more interested in talking about policies, plans, helping people. It’s all parliament has spoken about now for months.”

@stevebaggie1 commented: “Don't be too quick to think it's all over. But he's looking over a cliff now.”

@locka99 posted: “Boris being Boris he'll lie and bluster his way out of any findings such an inquiry makes, hoping to bury the findings under whatever the crisis du jour happens to be.”

@andrewjhenshaw added: “How many investigations and enquiries and reports do we have to get through? Let’s stop wasting time and get rid.”
