- Gordon Brown

Sunday Soldier, jointlytrained by David Killahena and Graeme Mcpherson, was an impressive winner at Musselburgh yesterday as she followed up a recent strike at the East Lothian venue.

Racing off a 14lb higher mark, the 11-8 favourite strolled home by 12 lengths in the Racing TV Profits Returned To Racing Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase.

Winning jockeyri chi em cl er non said :“She did it really well again. I had to give her a bit of a squeeze down the far side but she’s picked up nicely and is full of confidence at the moment.”

DJ Jeffreys saddled his first Musselburgh winner when Chosen Templar took the Tote Guarantee, Bet Smarter Maiden Hurdle in the hands of Jonathan Burke.

Having been as short as 11-8, the Cotswolds raider was returned 11-4 after outgunning Chatshow Host by a length and a quarter. “We think quite a lot of him and he’s not been in the yard too long,” Jeffreys said. “He might have one more run in this time and then we’ll put him away – he’s a long-distance chaser in the making.”

Patrick Wadge went two clear in the race for the conditional jockeys’ title when scoring on so They Say for his boss Lucinda Russell.

And Nick Alexander was on the mark when Duyfken made all under Danny Mcmenamin inthetote.co.ukyourfirstplace For Racing Handicap Hurdle.

Meanwhile, Top Secret can begin the new year as he finished the last with victory in the Unibet 3 Uniboosts A Day Handicap at Kempton today.

The seven-year-old is three from five at the Sunbury circuit, scoring twice in November 2022 and bolting up on his most recent visit just before Christmas.

Top Secret had disappointed on his two previous outings on turf, but clearly benefited from a 102-day break and a return to the all-weather as he won comfortably by just over two lengths. A 6lb rise to a career-high mark of 91 clearly makes life tougher, but he is nevertheless expected to enhance his fine course record with another win in this London Mile Series Qualifier.

Bosh catches the eye in the Unibet Extra Place Offers Every Day Handicap.

Richard h ann on' s inmate had a rating pushing three figures a couple of years ago, but a largely disappointing run of form has seen his mark drop to its current perch of 87.

There were definite signs of a revival when third at Lingfield last time out behind the prolific Intervention and he appears to have been found a good opportunity to resume winning ways.
