Adams warns his players that Thistle will be on a revenge mission

- Angus Wright

Ross County manager Derek Adams is braced for a Partick Thistle side who will be out for revenge in today’s Scottish Cup fourth-round tie in Dingwall.

The Jags return to the scene of one of the most painful days in the Maryhill club's history, just eight months on from their defeat in the cinch Premiership play-off final. Thistle

were three goals up and dominated the vast majority of the 210-minute encounter but three goals in 20 minutes from County and a penalty shootout defeat cost Kris Doolan's side a place in the top flight.

Quoted on his club's website, Adams said: "Thistle are bringing a large support north which should make for a really good atmosphere and I'd expect the game to be played at a fast pace.

"They'll be out for revenge we understand that - but we'll be on our guard for that.

"Playing at home is an advantage for us but they'll be bringing that big support. We won't have played for a few weeks, but they have, so we'll have to start the game off really well."

County branded their manager the "Loan Arranger" on their website as the former Morecambe boss prepared to introduce four new temporary signings against Thistle.

Left-back Cameron Borthwick-jackson

arrived from Slask Wroclaw on Thursday to join Fulham goalkeeper George Wickens, Cardiff and Wales Under-21 midfielder Eli King and Brandon Khela of Birmingham, in arriving in Dingwall.

Adams has also sold Ben Purrington to Exeter and allowed Raith to loan Kyle Turner, who played for Thistle in the play-off final. "We've done really well so far in the transfer window," he said.
