Levein delighted to have Sidibeh back as Saints look to climb away from drop zone

- Colin Forbes

Craig Levein is delighted that he will be able to call on the services of Adama Sidibeh at a vital stage in St Johnstone's battle at the bottom of the cinch Premiership.

The striker was introduced from the bench after 77 minutes as Levein's side grabbed a late leveller to earn a share of the spoils against Livingston in a 1-1 draw – just one week on from requiring hospital treatment after collapsing on the pitch against St Mirren.

Following a series of tests, Sidibeh was given the all-clear by the Saints medical team, and Levein is hoping he can make a big impact.

St Johnstone leapfrogged Aberdeen to move into ninth in the table, but their lead over Ross County in the play-off spot could be cut to two points should the Staggies win their game in hand against Hibernian.

"We got the scan results on Adama and there are no cardiac issues at all," Levein said.

"I think he just worked so hard last week he's ended up dizzy due to the exertion.

"We looked at his numbers for high intensity running and he was twice or three times some of the others.

"You have to go through all the medical checks to make sure there isn't something there which will cause a problem in the future.

"We're delighted to get him back and I thought he was unlucky again not to score."

Livi boss David Martindale is focusing on the positives as his team look to pull off the great escape against the drop.

It looked as if the Lions were set to cut the gap on nearest rivals Ross County to four points, before Nicky Clark's 87th-minute header dragged their hosts level.

"We're a point closer than we were at 3pm and if I can work on that basis every week for the next nine games I think we will be in an OK position," he said.

"If we can get into that split, we've got St Johnstone and Ross County at home, if we can get ourselves a wee bit closer then I think we've got a really good chance of staying in the league.

"Obviously, at that point you are navigating the play-offs, but right now I can only really focus on the team above us."
