Crypto pioneer Zumo recruits Mehra as non-exec
Scottish crypto pioneer Zumo has appointed financial heavyweight Ashwath Mehra as non-executive director as it seeks to capitalise on its regulatory advantage amidst growing institutional interest
An economist by training, Mehra is CEO of the ASTOR Group, a private investment and advisory business, working across mining, technology, biotech and real estate. He has more than 30 years’ experience in debt and equity capital markets and is a respected figure in the global business community.
He is also a director of several private and public companies in both executive and non-executive roles, and devotes much of his time to non-profit activities in education and healthcare.

Claire Johnston, who has decades of experience in the hospitality sector, has been appointed People Director delivering all aspects of a human resources remit, driving recruitment and bolstering employee relations.
Laura Dunphy takes on the role of Director of Learning and Development, a new role within the company. For the past three years, Laura has worked at the Cameron House as Head of Learning and Development.
The chairman of the Scottish food ingredient firm Macphie is stepping down this spring after 17 years in the role
Alastair Macphie, great nephew of the company’s founder, will continue as a non-executive director where his intimate knowledge of the business will add value to the long-term capital investment decisions.
He said: “It has been 29 years since I first took on the role of managing director and it has been amazing watching the company grow.
"Despite the recent challenges, last year we reported record sales, double-digit growth, and healthy profitability."
