Dairy cattle to 4500gns at Carlisle
ERROLSTON Master Mass Ricki from the Davidson family, Errolston Farm, Gretna, achieved the top price of 4500gns at the Border and Lakeland Club Sale at Carlisle.
Unshown in the pre-sale show, she is sired by Mapel Wood Brewmaster and her dam, Errolston Massey Ricki, is Ex 92 classified. This heifer sold to Messrs Evans, Oswestry, Shropshire.
Next best at 4000gns was Potts Boom Abella from Phil Potts, Buckabank Hall, Buckabank, Dalston, Carlisle. This heifer is a daughter of Regancrest Boom and is the eighth consecutive generation of Ex cows being out of Potts Beemer Abella
ET EX92. This one headed to Lancashire with Messrs Roper, Preston, Lancashire.
The pre-sale champion, Boclair Delta-Lambda Rose, was selected by the judge Alister Vance, Bridge House herd, Stranraer, and later made 3500gns.
From the Brewster family, Boclair Farm, Bearsden, Glasgow, this senior heifer in milk is the result of a mating between the sire Farnear Delta-Lambda and the dam Wyevalley Doorman Rose. She sold travelling to Ayrshire with the Caldwell family from Maybole.
The same home produced the reserve champion with the junior heifer in milk, Boclair Lambda Gypsy. She was an impressive framed heifer with a ton of style and giving almost 40kg, she sold for 3300gns to Messrs Forsyth, Baltier Farms, Whithorn, Newton Stewart. A daughter of Farnear Delta
Lambda, she is out of Boclair Crushtime Gypsy.
The Red and White heifer, Pinupgirl Jordy Stockings Red, from the Weatherup family Parkend Farm, Crossgates, Cowdenbeath, Fife, made 3200gns when selling to Messrs Roper, Preston, Lancashire.
Her third dam was the 2016 UK Dairy Expo champion, Parkend Director Starlet Red EX93, being out of Pinupgirl Awesome Stockings EX94
and sired by Cycle Mcgucci Jordy Red.
Berryholme Renegade Yvonne from the Wright family, Berry Holme, Helsington, Kendal, Cumbria, then realised 2950gns when the hammer fell to Messrs Coulthurst, Goosnargh, Preston. A daughter of S-S-I PR Renegade she is bred from Berryholme Pepper Yvonne.
