‘The Martian’ boasts he has personal data from TalkTalk hack

A USER calling himself ‘The Martian’ claimed to have ‘a lot’ of the personal details and was selling them for just £1.63 per account. Details include the names, addresses, bank account numbers, sort codes, email addresses and TalkTalk customer numbers.

MoS was easily able to buy bank numbers of TalkTalk customers

MAIL on Sunday reporters bought a small sample of the data to check if it was genuine. We were instantly sent the account details of five customers who confirmed to this newspaper that the informatio­n being sold was legitimate. Sellers were also touting stolen credit card details and login details of online accounts for major household brands such as Amazon, Boots and Vodafone.

FRAUDSTERS and thieves could use this informatio­n to make false purchases under your name, raid your bank account or carry out larger scams.

VODAFONE account details for customers eligible for a free upgrade were also up for grabs – allowing fraudsters to get a free mobile phone delivered to an address

of their choice.
