SCOTTISH Conservative energy spokesman Alexander Burnett is Scotland’s top-earning MSP, expected to pocket up to £137,620 this year from three lucrative jobs. The wealthy property tycoon and Aberdeenshire West MSP, who counts Russian Tsar Nicholas I as an ancestor, is worth more than £40 million. He owns the £10 million AJA Burnett Estate, is director and chairman of North Banchory Limited, and a member of investment company St Andrew Street Development and is a trustee of two further trusts with a combined value of more than £19 million. With dividends from other interests such as a heat energy firm and a wood fuel supplier, it dwarfs his £58,097 pay as an MSP.
