My recipe for revenge? Feed rivals some red hot peppers and watch them splutter!
Nick Clegg’s wife launches her Spanish cookbook with a wicked confession...
AS THE wife of former Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, she’s seen her fair share of political dirty tricks.
But Miriam Gonzalez Durantez knows how to take revenge on her husband’s opponents – serve them red hot peppers and watch them splutter.
In a frank interview with The Mail on Sunday’s You magazine today, lawyer Miriam, above, reveals there was no ‘friendship’ between the Cleggs and Camerons during the Coalition years, that she shunned invitations to dine at Chequers, and refused to cook for Chancellor George Osborne.
Miriam has just released a cookbook, Made In Spain, featuring recipes from her homeland, including a fiery pepper dish called pimientos de Padron. She says: ‘Every time I told Nick I’d serve them, he would look at me with panic, for fear that I would serve the hot ones to any of my very “favourite” guests.’
