COWDENBEATH 0 DUNFERMLINE 3
DUNFERMLINE kept alive their hopes of progressing in the Betfred Cup after easing to victory over Cowdenbeath. Three set-pieces settled this derby after the break as a double from Andy Geggan and defender Lee Ashcroft’s first goal for the club since joining from Kilmarnock this summer made it back-to-back wins. Boss Allan Johnston said: ‘We said at half-time the goals are going to come if we kept the pressure on and kept passing the ball. We deservedly got the goals in the end. ‘(Next opponent) Inverness are probably one of the best passing teams in the Premiership, so it will be interesting to see how good they are and to test ourselves against the top players, because that’s where, ultimately, we want to be.’
