TV presenter to step out in style at trade show
TELEVISION star June Sarpong is to launch a new Made in Britain fashion collection at the Best of Britannia London trade show next month. Sarpong – who founded the Ldny Foundation which helps young people from poorer communities in the UK and US enter the creative industries – will be an ambassador for the show. She has been working on the Ldny collection with the not-for-profit company Fashion Enter, which fosters skills in the fashion and textile industries. Sarpong, who presented Channel 4’s T4 and is a regular panellist on Loose Women, said: ‘The ethos of Ldny is to empower and inspire through the power of fashion.’ The collection was created by Daniella Helayel – who designed a dress worn by the Duchess of Cambridge – in partnership with the United Nations Trust Fund To End Violence Against Women. Jenny Holloway, director of Fashion Enter, said: ‘We have watched Best of Britannia grow for the last two years, so we are really excited to be collaborating.’
