Wedding’s off! Pop star ditches party-mad Cara

-

I’M SORRY to report that Cara Delevingne has split from longterm girlfriend St Vincent, whom she was widely expected to marry.

Rumours that the couple were engaged began to surface in July when Cara was seen wearing a huge diamond ring on her left hand, and last month I revealed that Cara had booked an entire private island for a holiday with 160 friends over New Year, which led to speculation that the holiday would double-up as a wedding.

Now friends are shocked that the romance has ended so suddenly. I’m told that St Vincent – real name Annie Clark – called off the relationship after a bustup over Cara’s recent jaunt to the Burning Man music festival, where she partied in the Nevada desert with a female model friend and Paris Hilton among others. Health-conscious singer St Vincent refused to go to the festival where parties always go on all night.

Says a pal of the couple: ‘Annie couldn’t understand why Cara wanted to be there instead of spending time alone with her. When she clocked photos of Cara having maybe too much of a good time without her, she decided enough was enough.’

St Vincent, 33, is also said to be uncomfortable about Cara’s close friendship with actress Margot Robbie, who starred with her in the film Suicide Squad. After its premiere last month, the pair went out partying arm-in-arm in matching tracksuits and in one promotional appearance for the film, Margot admitted to receiving late night text messages from Cara, 24. On August 21, the duo also partied with actress Amber Heard, who recently separated from Johnny Depp.

Last week, St Vincent hinted at her loneliness by posting a picture on Instagram of a bracelet with the word ‘Family’. Cara also posted a cryptic message which read: ‘You can’t live a positive life with a negative mind’.

The split is likely to mean Cara will move back to London. She has been living with St Vincent in Paris, where they reportedly became engaged.
