Single Bea is looking for love (but she’s giving her blind dates the shakes)

-

IT’S only weeks since her longterm relationship with Dave Clark – the man many expected her to marry – imploded in a welter of headlines.

But I can reveal Princess Beatrice has put the heartache well and truly behind her and is looking for a new love in her life.

In fact, she has already been on one blind date – but things didn’t work out quite as hoped.

The man – who had no idea he was meeting a member of the Royal Family – was so bowled over when he turned up and realised who his date was that he spent the whole time shaking and sweating with nerves.

Nevertheless, friends are delighted that Beatrice, 28, has ‘broken the ice’ on the dating scene after enjoying her first night out with the mystery suitor a week ago.

A source says: ‘Bea went on a date with a man who arrived with flowers but was left pouring with sweat when he realised who his date was.

‘Beatrice found it very funny – it was great to break the ice, great practice and he was a great guy, she said.’

Beatrice was in good spirits at her mother Sarah Ferguson’s talk at London’s China Exchange on Thursday, where she was joined by her sister Eugenie, 26, Eugenie’s partner Jack Brooksbank, and a host of family friends. Bea’s upbeat demeanour was a far cry from eight weeks ago when I broke the story of her break-up. Beatrice and Dave quietly called time on their ten-year romance in July after the failure of ‘make or break’ talks over whether they should get married.

In the past year, Beatrice followed Dave, 32, to both coasts of America as he pursued his career with taxi app Uber.

She is now working for friends at a New York consultancy and it seems her time in the US has given her an international taste in men.

‘Bea has told friends she does not want to be set up with any English men,’ the source added. ‘She does not fancy Sloaney men in red trousers. She has told friends potential dates have to be European or American.’
