7 WAYS TO PROTECT YOUR MONEY

-

WITHHOLD your PIN and password information from anyone who asks for it. Genuine bank staff will never demand these details.

SHRED any paperwork detailing your name, address or financial information before throwing it away.

AVOID emails that look to be from your bank asking you to click on a link and sign in – this is likely to be a phishing scam. Open a new window on your internet browser and visit your bank’s website the usual way.

UPDATE security software on your computer.

KNOW that any advice to move your money to a ‘safe account’ because of suspected fraudulent activity is actually a scam.

‘TAKE five’ – is the name of a new campaign by Financial Fraud Action UK. It is a reminder to take a moment, pause a conversation arising from a cold call and think before acting. Find out more at takefivestopfraud.org.uk.
