The same old stories, but you have to enjoy the pantomime
ACCORDING to Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers, BT Sport replayed the footage of Craig Gordon’s karatekick on Greig Spence of Alloa 14 times and Erik Sviatchenko’s foul on Ross Draper at Inverness 26 times while repeating a bad challenge made by Rangers’ Harry Forrester twice.
This season, in so many regards, is starting to feel like a comfortable pair of old slippers.
Wars of words, games of hate, budding conspiracy theories, the SFA chief executive in the firing line, referees getting touchy over criticism, high-profile players falling out with the Rangers manager, players allegedly involved in bar brawls, England telling the Old Firm to get stuffed.
The same storylines come round and round, but they are always splendidly amusing.
Isn’t that what pantomime is about, after all?
