The MSP for Glasgow Ghetto

ONE of the more unusual offers for activists at the conference was a bus trip round the ‘Govanhill ghetto’.

The outing was organised by local campaign group Let’s Save Govanhill, to allow activists to see how bad conditions really are for residents in this poorer part of Glasgow.

But it was surely embarrassing for the SNP in general – and the party leader in particular – that one of the MSPs who represents the area in the Scottish parliament is none other than Nicola Sturgeon.
