Tomato pills ‘combat food fats’
TAKING tomato pills could help combat the harmful effects of fatty food, new research suggests.
In a French study, 150 men and women were given either a tomato heart health supplement or a placebo for a fortnight, then ate a meal high in fat. The group who had taken the tomato supplement CardioMato had significantly lower levels of LDL cholesterol, also known as ‘bad cholesterol’. They also had lower insulin levels.
