MoS stars in line for journalism ‘Oscars’

MAIL on Sunday journalist­s have been shortliste­d no fewer than eight times in this year’s industry ‘Oscars’, the Press Awards.

After sweeping the board last year by winning seven awards – including Newspaper of the Year – Britain’s favourite Sunday newspaper is poised for more success at the prestigiou­s event celebratin­g the best of UK journalism.

Political Editor Simon Walters is shortliste­d for agenda-setting exclusives on the Michael awards with nomination­s for Amy E. Williams in the Fashion Journalist of the Year category and Catherine O’Brien as Interviewe­r of the Year.

Rachel Johnson is in the running for Columnist of the Year and two of our brilliant critics – Craig Brown and Deborah Ross – go head to head in the Critic of the Year category.

The winners of the Society of Editors National Press Awards for 2016 will be announced at a glittering ceremony in Central London on March 14.
