Infantino wrapped in luxury as fans face a live game of Russian roulette

-

FIFA president Gianni Infantino says he is ‘not at all concerned’ about hooliganism at the World Cup in Russia.

Of course he isn’t. He will be chauffeurdriven from luxury hotel to restaurant to underground stadium car park over the course of a month-long jolly.

Meanwhile, regular punters will have to steer themselves gracefully around masked mobs exuding all the malevolence of a psychotic pitbull with a thorn in its paw.

It does put ever such a dampener on the holidays when you are travelling round the bleaker recesses of the old Soviet Union with a fractured skull after a bit of action at the football. Take it from someone who knows.
