Oh boy, Cheryl!

Star gives birth after months of mystery over her pregnancy

SHE managed to keep her pregnancy a secret for eight months – but last night former X Factor judge Cheryl proudly told the world that she had given birth to a baby boy.

On the eve of Mother’s Day, the 33-year-old took to Instagram to announce that she and her partner, One Direction star Liam Payne, had become parents.

She posted a photo of Liam cradling their dark-haired baby with the caption: ‘On Wednesday 22nd March, Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy, weighing 7lb 9oz and looking like a dream.

‘Although he still doesn’t have a name he is already stealing hearts. We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival.’

Liam, 23, shared the same photo with his 13million Instagram followers and wrote: ‘My close friends and family know there are very few times when I’m left speechless… wow!

‘I’m incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world. It’s a moment that I will never forget and my favourite memory so far.

‘I’m completely in awe of his incredible mother… she’s really made my dreams come true. I feel very blessed.’

Their son was born in a private ward at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and although they have not yet picked a name, Cheryl once revealed she liked the name Alfie.

She kept fans guessing before confirming her pregnancy at a L’Oreal photoshoot, where she posed in a close-fitting black dress, cradling her bump.

Friends said at the time that she had kept the pregnancy a secret because she didn’t want to ‘jinx her happiness’.

Cheryl’s former Girls Aloud bandmate Nadine Coyle last night tweeted: ‘I am so so happy for you & your precious little boy & family!’
