Meet Olivia, student who graduated from classroom to catwalk

REVISING hard for her sixth-year exams, straight-A student Olivia Fenn is preparing for life after school.

But when her classmates begin university, she will be embarking on a full-time modelling career.

The 17-year-old, who attends Hutchesons’ Grammar School in Glasgow, received five unconditional offers to study the courses of her choice – but she is planning to put her academic ambitions on hold to pursue a blossoming catwalk career in London.

Scouted by top Scottish model agency Colours when she was only 15, the 5ft 10in teenager’s star is rising.

She recently signed with agencies in London, Paris and Milan and showcased clothes for the personal stylists of Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian.

Miss Fenn, from East Kilbride, Lanarkshire, also modelled at London and Paris Fashion Week this year.

She told The Scottish Mail on Sunday: ‘I am so excited for the future. I hadn’t considered modelling until I was scouted. I have always been the tallest in my group of friends and it used to be something I was a little self-conscious about, but now I embrace it.

‘I’ve met some amazing people and my friends were impressed that shoes I modelled were sent straight to supermodel Bella Hadid.’

Miss Fenn accepted an offer to study accountancy at Glasgow University but her place has been deferred until next year. She said: ‘My parents were keen I had qualifications to fall back on and my agency were very supportive.

‘Knowing how much I wanted to model made me work even harder for my Highers and I got five As.

‘I have been given this amazing opportunity and I’m going to make the most of it. I definitely want to get a degree but it can wait. I would regret it if an amazing assignment came in for me to go overseas but I had to turn it down because I had an essay deadline.’

Colours director Alison Bruce said: ‘Olivia has an incredibly striking face and we believe she’s got enough drive and determination to have an amazing international career.’
