CLOSE YOUR EYES... COLLUM’S IN CHARGE
IT hasn’t been much of a week for the Scottish FA, has it?
Even though Morton manager Jim Duffy is now serving a two-game ban, Neil Lennon has yet to be dealt with over that barney with him at Easter Road 25 days ago and was in the dugout for yesterday’s Scottish Cup semi-final with Aberdeen.
Still, at least Hibs’ return to the national stadium passed off without another re-enactment of Culloden. We can be thankful for that.
Today is another day, though. Scott Brown, of course, will captain Celtic in the Old Firm game despite being sent off against Ross County last weekend. The fast-track appeals system isn’t all that fast, you see, when SFA staff fancy having Easter Monday off ahead of two of the biggest club games of the season.
Above all that, a season riddled with refereeing mistakes reached new lows when Motherwell were given a goal that never was — describing it as payback for two inexplicably not given against Dundee and Hamilton Accies — and Alex Schalk won a penalty for falling over.
Willie Collum and Don Robertson were the men-inthe-middle for those particular games. They will both be back in action at Hampden this afternoon.
What could possibly go wrong?
