HULL SUFFER SHOCK AS SUNDERLAND SECURE FIRST LEAGUE WIN IN 11 GAMES

HULL CITY’S hopes of survival suffered a dent after already-relegated Sunderland triumphed 2-0 at the KCOM Stadium.

Billy Jones’ diving header put the Black Cats ahead in the 69th minute before Jermain Defoe sealed Sunderland’s first win in 11 league matches.

‘After being relegated, players have to stand up and show some pride, and today they did that,’ said manager David Moyes. ‘If we had shown the character and level of performanc­e today throughout the season, we’d have more points.’

Leicester secured their Premier League status with a 3-0 home win over Watford.

Wilfred Ndidi got the Foxes off to a flier, firing home from ten yards.

Riyad Mahrez doubled the lead before Marc Albrighton added the third.

Burnley came from behind to take a point against West Brom.

Sam Vokes put the Clarets ahead on 56 minutes before Salomon Rondon and Craig Dawson turned things around for West Brom.

But Vokes struck four minutes from time to secure a point.

Bournemout­h and Stoke shared a 2-2 draw.

A Lys Mousset own goal put Stoke ahead before Junior Stanislas equalised for the hosts.

Mame Beram Diouf made it 2-1 for the away side before a Ryan Shawcross own goal levelled the scores.
