Hamilton fight back to upset Queens after a frantic finish

HAMILTON survived a scare at New Douglas Park to secure a bonus-point penalty shootout win against Queen of the South.

Steven Boyd thought he had won the tie in normal time for Accies, scoring after 88 minutes, but Stephen Dobbie levelled just a minute later.

Queens were then 2-0 ahead on spot-kicks but Accies fought back to secure a 6-5 shootout win.

East Kilbride crashed 5-2 at home to Albion Rovers in the other Group G clash.

Kilmarnock made it back-toback wins with a 2-0 victory over Annan Athletic in Group E.

Strikes from Dom Thomas and Kris Boyd either side of the break moved Killie to the top of their section on goals scored.

Clyde are level on points with Killie and Ayr after securing a 2-1 win over Dumbarton.

Dunfermlin­e’s Group B goal streak continued as doubles from Declan McManus and Joe Cardle helped them on their way to a 5-1 victory over Peterhead.

Rory McAllister pulled one back from the spot but a Scott Ross own goal ended things.

Arbroath remain unbeaten in Group D following a 4-0 rout of Montrose.

In Group F, League One Queen’s Park thumped Edinburgh City 3-0 at Hampden as Dominic Docherty opened the scoring after 22 minutes before a Chris McKee own goal and Anthony Brady’s effort settled the tie.

In Group H, Livingston ran out 2-0 victors against League One side Airdrieoni­ans.
