Houston left seeing red after his Bairns blow up

- By Graham Swann

FURIOUS Falkirk manager Peter Houston insists he will fine Craig Sibbald and Lee Miller after both were sent off as they hit selfdestruct against Dunfermline.

Declan McManus and Joe Cardle put the hosts two goals ahead after 11 minutes before the Bairns lost the plot in the second half.

Sibbald saw red for kicking out at Cardle before Miller elbowed Dunfermline’s Nat Wedderburn.

Tom Taiwo pulled a goal back for Falkirk late on before Cardle made sure of the win.

‘We trotted about in the first half,’ said Houston. ‘Our players were soft as putty, then there was a total lack of discipline from two senior players.

‘They’ve let the club down. I can’t stand for that — I will not accept it.

‘Action will be taken — they’ll be disciplined. They’re not getting away with it. But I’m angry at the whole team.’

Kallum Higginbotham’s neat pass split the Falkirk defence, allowing McManus to slot into the bottom corner to put Dunfermline ahead after five minutes.

Six minutes later, Ryan Williamson crossed for Cardle, who fired home from close range.

Sibbald saw red for kicking out at Cardle on the touchline seven minutes after the restart to make matters worse for Falkirk.

Then Miller, who came on as a second-half substitute, was sent off 10 minutes later after he stupidly elbowed Wedderburn.

Falkirk pulled a goal back seven minutes from time when Tony Gallacher’s shot hit the post and Taiwo fired home the rebound.

The Pars added a third goal in stoppage time when Cardle fired home from 15 yards.
