Sharing a passion for history? Kate’s friend organises sex party in castle

- By Beverley Lyons

THEY are usually associated with turrets and battlements, suits of armour on cold flagstone floors and walls decked with dusty oil paintings and antlered stags’ heads.

But among Scotland’s legion of ancient castles, one is about to achieve an unique form of historic notoriety – as the venue for an upmarket sex party.

For the first time, a company which specialises in organising genteel orgies is laying on two nights of what it describes as an ‘electrically charged environment’ for the ‘sexual aristocracy’ at a grand Scottish house.

And if the rather risqué adverts are to be believed, ‘a night of depravity awaits’ and ‘your moans will be lost on the night breeze, flitting across the loch’.

The party is being organised by Killing Kittens, an English firm set up and run by Emma Sayle, a school friend of the Duchess of Cambridge.

Its website boasts of hosting ‘the world’s most exclusive, decadent and hedonistic parties, fully focused on the pursuit of female pleasure’.

Although the company has organised similar parties in venues including a St Tropez yacht and London townhouses, this is the first in a Scottish castle.

To prevent prying eyes, the exact location is being kept secret – even from attendees – until 24 hours before the event, although the adverts boast of a ‘Borders Castle’.

The organisers confirm only that it is an 18th century property with a loch and a hot tub.

Single men are not allowed but tickets cost £40 for a single female and £120 for couples.

The dress code states guests must at least start the evening in black tie, evening wear and masquerade-style masks.

The main attraction, Ms Sayle says, will be a candle-lit bedroom with up to 50 people ‘at it’.

The 39-year-old, who lives in London, attended elite public school Downe House with Kate Middleton and they were both part of an all-female charity rowing team in 2007. Ms Sayle said: ‘This is our first outing into a castle and we hope it will be the start of many.

‘We will have a main party area with a reception of champagne and oysters and people can mingle there or wander off into one of three or four bedrooms.

‘If it’s a massive room we can end up with fifty people at it in one room.’

She added: ‘It’s an authentic 18th century castle an hour to two hours outside Edinburgh. It’s small with just a few rooms so we will be keeping numbers to fifty revellers each night. The playrooms are candle-lit with some music and the action will occur there. The playrooms are usually quite big and we can have four beds in one room.’

The event flyer states: ‘A night of depravity awaits within the ancient castle walls... As you discover your inner wickedness, beware! Your moans will be lost on the night’s breeze, flitting across the loch.’

Ms Sayle said: ‘Most of our Scottish members seem to be around Edinburgh and we also have quite a transient international group of people... They might be in Scotland for work or are visiting there for a long weekend. For an event in a castle people will go from further afield.’ She added: ‘You don’t just walk through the door and get your clothes off. It’s quite funny – people may complain that the action is taking too long to get started but they will be fully dressed when they say it.

‘You can’t expect other people to get naked when you’re not.

‘It’s all behind closed doors. People just think there is a party going on and often they see taxis and think it could be a birthday or engagement party.

‘If it goes well we will be looking at bigger castles for 100200 people.’

The first castle party, on October 27, will be for over-45s, dubbed ‘silver kittens’. The next night the castle will be taken over by 18-45 year olds.
