WHAT DISGRUNTLED GUESTS SAID...

-

‘STAY AWAY – PLACE IS FILTHY DIRTY’

★✩✩✩✩ AICHA C Thick dust all on the headboard and pictures, table lamps. The kettle was dirty along with two cups and teaspoons. There was a two-inch hole in the bottom sheet. The pillows were a disgrace and the duvet didn’t fit in the duvet cover.

‘AWFUL… DIDN’T BOTHER STAYING’

★✩✩✩✩ STUART P Unfortunately the room was in the attic and had no view apart from the roof, the bathroom was grotty with black mould. The carpet in the room was stained and in general the room could do with redecorating.

‘BANK HOLIDAYS’

★★✩✩✩ ARUBA400 You will be paying five-star rates for a two-star service. Noisy, drunken antics from weddings and functions so you will have to go somewhere else for a peaceful night’s sleep. Very poor, not worth the price we paid.

‘VERY DUSTY AND WORN’

★★✩✩✩ JKUCHAR747 The room was disgustingly dusty. Everything was very worn. Our sheets had something on them and the girl that checked us in was the same one to change the sheets.

‘LOOKS LIKE A CASTLE, BUT MORE LIKE AN UNCARED-FOR HOSTEL’

★✩✩✩✩ LORRAINE B Staff apart from Alina not interested in customers. The wine waiter did not know what shiraz was. No cruets on the tables, waitress said people stole them all. This place should be renamed Fawlty Towers.

‘NOT A HOTEL, A WEDDING VENUE’

★✩✩✩✩ P9872BSRONALDH I’ve stayed at Melville a number of times over the years, usually early in the week, but last Wednesday was the last time. I didn’t even bother to mention the complete absence of hot water & a buffet breakfast (now served in a damp cellar…)
