SEAGULLS ARE FLYING AFTER MURRAY MAGIC

-

GLENN MURRAY netted his 11th and 12th goals of the season as Brighton ended Swansea’s ten-match unbeaten run to move clear of the relegation places — and send the Welsh side to 18th.

Murray opened the scoring on 18 minutes from the penalty spot before netting again with 21 minutes remaining.

Four minutes after Brighton doubled their lead, Anthony Knockaert made it 3-0.

Lewis Dunk’s own goal gave Swansea hope of a comeback with five minutes remaining but Jurgen Locadia netted in injury-time to round off a 4-1 victory.

Murray said: ‘They got a goal back but thankfully we killed the game off.

‘It was important we got the three points and moved up the table a little bit. It’s still in the balance and we can’t take our foot off the pedal.’

Watford picked up three points as Troy Deeney’s 79thminute strike was enough to beat Everton 1-0.

Manolo Gabbiadini scored an injury-time equaliser for Southampton to extend Burnley’s winless run to 11 matches.

The Clarets looked set to earn their first victory since November after Ashley Barnes’ 67th-minute effort but Gabbiadini had other ideas.

England goalkeeper Jack Butland had an afternoon to forget after scoring an own goal to cost Stoke three points at Leicester.

Xherdan Shakiri had put Paul Lambert’s team ahead but a cross from Marc Albrighton was deflected in by the keeper to give the Foxes a 1-1 draw.
