£10k Winstants joy puts Hilary in holiday mood

- By Peter Henn

YOU too can be a winner in our Winstants scratchcard competition like Hilary Porritt.

She won £10,000 and you could follow her simply by scratching through the numbers on your Mail on Sunday card which came with yesterday’s Daily Mail.

Hilary, from Oldham, said she had never won anything worthwhile before scooping the prize thanks to her Mail on Sunday earlier this month. The retired police communications worker added: ‘I’ve only ever won a lucky dip and a few quid on the lottery before, so winning this was a surprise.’

The 64-year-old also is now planning a holiday with some of her winnings.

She said: ‘My partner and I have always liked going to Italy on holiday, so maybe we’ll go there.

‘Then again, I’ve always said that I’d like to go on a cruise!’

Hilary, a loyal reader of both the Mail on Sunday and Daily Mail, said that it was not just travel that she was keen to spend her cash on.

She added: ‘I’d like to get some things for the garden. With the weather, it’s taken a battering over the past few months. I might also get a new car.’

Winstants prizes range from £50 up to £20,000.
