all dream of meeting our heroes – but when you’re Andy Murray you can make such dreams come true. He has helped to arrange for wife Kim, right, to meet Jilly Cooper – whom Mrs Murray has described as her ‘all time favourite author and general super hero’.

Jilly and Andy met at the FA’s football centre where she was working on new tome Tackle! and Andy was in rehab for a hip injury.

‘He asked for a selfie with me to send Kim,’ Jilly 81, told me between trips to the Paddy Power box at Cheltenham last week. ‘Now we’re great friends. He’s very attractive in the flesh. Kim and I are going to meet.’ Jilly said they had ‘corresponded like mad’ about their love of border terriers – the Murrays have two – but had never met.
