PARDEW IS HURTING AFTER SEEING BAGGIES BLOW IT AT BOURNEMOUTH
PRESSURE is set to intensify on Alan Pardew after the West Brom boss watched his side squander a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 at Bournemouth.
Jay Rodriguez got the opener on 49 minutes, sparking the Baggies’ hopes of avoiding relegation.
However, 13 minutes from fulltime, Jordan Ibe cut in from the left-hand side before firing into the bottom corner to level.
Twelve minutes later, the game had been turned on its head as Junior Stanislas curled a free-kick into the top corner, heaping more misery on Pardew and his side.
Defeat leaves West Brom ten points from safety and Pardew said: ‘It is so hurtful for our fans and our players. That free-kick really hurt us, but we should have done better for the equaliser.
‘This was a chance to get a win and get our confidence up. Instead we have had a really hurtful blow. The team deserved more than they got today.’
Crystal Palace moved out of the relegation zone with a 2-0 victory at Huddersfield.
James Tomkins put the Eagles ahead on 23 minutes before Luka Milivojevic doubled their lead from the penalty spot midway through the second half.
