Typically reaching 3ft in height, this evergreen shrub boasts pendant clusters of sweetly scented, creamy green flowers in early spring.

2 RIBES SANGUINEUM ‘BROCKLEBAN­KII’

Pink flowers in early spring are displayed against a foil of yellow foliage. Works well in sun or in dappled shade.

3 RIBES SANGUINEUM ‘KING EDWARD VII’

A mid- to latespring bloomer, with spicily scented leaves and clusters of deep crimson, tubular flowers

4 RIBES SANGUINEUM ‘KOJA’

Produces masses of reddish-pink flowers from March to May. An RHS Award of Garden Merit holder.

5 RIBES SANGUINEUM ‘WHITE ICICLE’

Reaching heights of 6ft or so, this shrub, above, has attractive lobed leaves and racemes of white flowers during March and April.
