Ewan McGregor’s model daughter selling her clothes online in bid to raise £3,000
HER father Ewan may be a multimillionaire movie star, but it seems Clara McGregor still feels the need to raise some extra cash.
The 21-year-old is now using an online auction site to sell off dozens of items from her wardrobe.
And as you might expect from someone who is signed to one of the world’s biggest modelling agencies, she takes great care to showcase the garments to their best effect – often posing in little more than her underwear.
She is selling 124 items in a bid to raise $4,158 – around £3,000.
Clara recently graduated from New York’s Tisch School of the Arts and has landed a contract with Wilhelmina Models, which launched the career of the late David Bowie’s wife, Iman.
She was also picked as one of fashion bible Vogue’s ‘It girls’ of 2017.
She launched her career with her first cover shoot, posing in bed with veteran supermodel Helena Christensen in an avant garde fashion magazine.
Now she has asked her Twitter followers to ‘Check out what I’m selling’ – and directed them to her account on the Depop online auction site.
Among the items for sale is a ‘barely worn soft T-shirt’ for £5.70, a ‘super warm, barely worn’ bright red parka coat for £14.25 and a flying jacket for £25, which she says is ‘faux fur and amazing quality faux leather. Super warm!’.
The items range wildly in price. Among the cheapest is a ‘crop knitted blouse’ at £7, while the most expensive garments include a pair of ‘barely worn Phillip Lim white leather boots Size 36’ for £263 and a brand new Jimmy Choo Finley bag at £252. There is jewellery, too, including a vintage pearl necklace for £42, a real gold apple locket for £35, alongside some unused socks for £10.50 – the same price as some red and black bikinis.
Clara has publicly sided with her mother, Eve Mavrakis, since she was dumped for Ewan’s younger Fargo co-star, Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
Shortly after it was revealed that Ewan, 46, had left his wife of 22 years for Winstead, Clara posted a picture of her mother with estranged husband Ewan cropped out.
Alongside the image, she wrote: ‘How frickin gorgeous is my mama?? Strongest, smartest most loving woman I know. My rock.’
Clara grew up in Los Angeles, after moving from London at the age of 12.
The eldest of four children, she said in her first interview since the split, that if life gets tough, ‘Then I always remind myself how lucky I am’.
