DID two become one? It’s the tantalising question that fans of the Spice Girls have been asking for a quarter of a century.

Now Scary Spice Mel B has provided the answer – she DID have a lesbian fling with bandmate Geri Halliwell.

The admission finally came during a TV interview with Mail on Sunday columnist Piers Morgan for his forthcoming Life Stories series.

Repeatedly pressed about persistent rumours that she and Ginger Spice – now Geri Horner – had been more than just friends, the singer confessed: ‘She is going to hate me for this because she is all posh with her country house and her husband, but it’s a fact. But it wasn’t a thing, it just happened and we just giggled at it and that was it.’

When Morgan enquired how frequently they slept together, the

43-year-old, real name Melanie Brown, said ‘Oh stop it, you pervert’, before eventually confirming there was a solitary sexual encounter.

Mel B admitted that the public will be fascinated by her fling with Geri, who married Formula 1 racing team boss Christian Horner in 2015.

Her bandmate Melanie Chisholm – Mel C – who was in the audience as the ITV show was recorded on Friday evening, admitted: ‘This is all new to me.’

‘I have said it now. All done,’ added Mel B. ‘She is going to kill me.’

Mel B, who divorced film producer Stephen Belafonte in 2017 after a turbulent ten-year marriage, detailed a chaotic life of sex and drugs in a recent autobiography

And she has justification for her concern about how Geri will react as the pair are known to have a fractious relationship.

It will come under more stress when the band – minus Posh Spice Victoria Beckham – begin rehearsals for their UK tour in a fortnight.

Geri’s decision to leave the Spice Girls in 1998 was widely rumoured to have been down to rows with Mel B, and the pair have reportedly clashed over their outfits for the new tour. Geri, who last night declined to comment on Mel B’s revelation, is said to favour more demure outfits worn by the band’s now middle-aged fans, while Mel B wants to dust down the skimpy clothing of their 1990s heyday.

When Morgan asked her about her sexuality, twice married mother-ofthree Mel B replied: ‘You fall in love with whoever you fall in love with. I just don’t have a preference.

‘I had a great experience with a woman for five years and that showed me that there are other options out there.

‘My mum will tell you [that period] was one of the happiest times she has ever seen me.’

The Spice Girls sold 85million records over their career, scoring nine No1 singles including Wannabe and 2 Become 1, before splitting in 2000. Their sold-out tour begins in Dublin on May 24.
