THE family of a young woman killed in a road crash with a lorry has told of their ‘devastation’ at her death.

Chloe Morrison, 26, died after the collision on the A82 at Drumnadrochit, Invernessshire, around 1.10pm on Friday – one of four fatalities and several injuries in a spate of accidents around Scotland.

Ms Morrison, who lived locally, died at the scene. Her family said: ‘We are absolutely devastated at the loss of our beloved Chloe.’

Sergeant Ewan Calder of Police Scotland said: ‘Our inquiries into this incident are ongoing. We ask any motorists or members of the public who were in the area and may have witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage, to contact us.’

A 30-year-old German tourist was killed on Wednesday in a crash involving a minibus and water tanker, also on the A82 near Bridge of Orchy, Argyll.

Witnesses told how drivers rushed from their cars to assist after the collision but the man died at the scene.

Meanwhile, on Friday, a 45-year old pedestrian died after being struck by a silver

Vauxhall Zafira car at Whitburn, West Lothian, around 4.20am. A stretch of the A706 was closed for more than ten hours.

Appealing for witnesses, Sergeant Dominic Doyle of Police Scotland said: ‘Our deepest sympathies are with the family. We are working to establish exactly what happened.’

In Aberdeenshire yesterday, a woman died following a two-car crash around 8.50am on the B977 by the exclusive Raemoir House events venue near Banchory.

She was pronounced dead at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where the driver of the other vehicle was also taken for treatment.

Police said the family of the dead woman had been informed of the tragedy.

Last night, a 79-year-old man was fighting for his life after a three-vehicle incident on the A75 Gretna to Stranraer road between Crocketford and Dumfries.

The accident happened around 3.45pm on Friday. A 22-year-old woman and 65-year-old man were taken to hospital but were later released.

Police said that anyone with information about any of the incidents should get in touch by calling 101.
