KATE Beckinsale’s grungy rock star boyfriend dated a social media influencer who is a year younger than her daughter, Lily.
The Mail on Sunday can reveal that Goody Grace, 22, had a long-term relationship with American Instagram star Sahar Luna, 20, before he met Kate – 24 years his senior – in January.
Grace, real name Branson Gudmundson, described his former love as ‘super cool’ in an interview with a Canadian magazine, but they are understood to have split last year.
On her social media accounts, Miss Luna has posted a series of raunchy photos of herself, in one holding what looks to be a spliff while holidaying in Amsterdam. She also took part in the music video that accompanied Grace’s song, Memories.
Grace, who is Canadian and grew up on a trailer park in a small town in Manitoba, also revealed he has a tattoo on his wrist of a character from the romantic supernatural movie The Shape Of Water, saying: ‘I love everything to do with love.’
But it isn’t just the age difference between Kate, 46, who has a 21year-old daughter, Lily, from her relationship with actor Michael Sheen, and her latest lover that makes them an unlikely couple. Their backgrounds could hardly be more different too.
While she is the Oxford-educated daughter of late Porridge star Richard Beckinsale and English actress Judy Loe, Grace was brought up by a single mother, Tammy, who struggled to make ends meet while working in casinos. His brother, Allan, works as a miner close to where the siblings grew up.
And Miss Beckinsale, who split with American film director Len Wiseman in 2016, might be keen to know that Grace’s idol is Travis Barker – the bad boy drummer of US rock band Blink-182. He has been romantically linked to singer Rita Ora and reality star Kourtney Kardashian in the past.
Grace is Kate’s fourth toyboy in three years, following comedians Matt Rife, Jack Whitehall and Pete Davidson – all of whom were at least 15 years younger than her.
She dated Rife, from Ohio, for a year in 2017 when he was 21 and she was 43. In late 2018, she was spotted dining with privately educated Whitehall, 31, in Los Angeles before they spent the evening at a £2,000-a-night hotel together.
Miss Beckinsale then dated Davidson, 26, who is 20 years younger than her, for at least four months last year. He was previously engaged to singer Ariana Grande, also 26.
