Pop star Sharleen’s girl Misty really is a model daughter

- By Beverley Lyons

HER mother is one of Scotland’s most successful musicians.

Now Misty Kyd, the daughter of Texas frontwoman Sharleen Spiteri, is finding fame in her own right – as a model. The 17-year-old made her catwalk debut for fashion house Miu Miu this year alongside supermodel Gigi Hadid and has just been announced as the face of its handbag campaign. The model, whose father is magazine editor Ashley Heath, is now signed with the world-famous Viva agency, which also represents Scots Kirsty Hume, Stella Tennant and Lady Jean Campbell.

Her singer mother took to Instagram last week to share images from the Miu Miu photoshoot, writing: ‘How they grow up. Misty Kyd… really proud mum.’

The Glasgow-born I Don’t Want A Lover singer received congratulatory messages from a host of famous friends, including Sadie Frost, who commented, ‘So cute’, and Claudia Winkleman, who wrote: ‘So beautiful.’

Misty, 5ft 7in, who grew up in the trendy Primrose Hill area of London with her mother, describes herself as ‘enthusiastic, energetic, ambitious’ on her Viva Model Management biography page – but reveals that, unlike her mother, she ‘doesn’t really like singing’ and plays no musical instruments.

She does, however, admit that she loves music from the Nineties – when Texas were at the height of their fame. Following her Miu Miu runway debut, she said: ‘All I can say is wow. What a way to finish off Paris Fashion Week!

‘Such an honour to debut with such an amazing show! Such a lovely team behind this show.’

She also posted a picture on Instagram of herself backstage, writing: ‘If only

I’d known a week later I’d be going into isolation.’
