Attention all Goldfingers, iconic Bond movie poster up for auction... at £10,000!
IT’S enough to leave James Bond fans shaken and just a little stirred...
A colour cinema poster featuring the late actor Sir Sean Connery in his iconic role goes under the hammer later this month – and could sell for up to £10,000.
The 1963 poster, measuring 30in by 40in, was used to publicise 007 movie From Russia With Love, with a tuxedoclad Sir Sean wielding his gun while surrounded by glamorous Bond girls.
Based on Sir Ian Fleming’s 1957 book, the movie is Bond’s second mission as 007, where he is pitted against Red

Grant, his deadliest foe, and Rosa Klebb, who wields a poisoned dagger in her shoe.
The movie was a huge success, taking in millions of pounds in worldwide box office receipts.
The poster, which features artwork by Renato Fratini and Eric Pulford, is unrestored and there is a slight chip in the upper edge of the centrefold. However, that doesn’t appear to detract from its desirability. Another Bond poster in the auction, for the movie Thunderball, was initially available in 1965 for just £1.50. It is expected to fetch up to £8,000. Auctioneers Propstore said the Thunderball poster is an unusual piece that may be the only copy in existence.
Both items, along with other Bond memorabilia and collectible movie posters, will be auctioned in Los Angeles on Thursday. Propstore’s Grey Smith said: ‘It is fantastic to be presenting such a wide range of posters from the Bond franchise.
‘This is a perfect opportunity for 007 fans to win their own piece of movie history, whatever budget they are working with.’
