SUITS YOU STEVE! CORRIE STAR SIMON GOES GLAM FOR FASHION FUN
CORONATION Street actor Simon Gregson shocked fans in North Staffordshire by donning a silver catsuit and floral dress inside a shop.
The soap star – who plays Steve Mcdonald on the long-running ITV show – wasn’t auditioning for any new roles but was instead hosting a night of fun fashion.
The 45-year-old joined Stephen Lanza and his husband Jason Smith at Mosaic Boutique, in Leek, to flog the unique outfits on social media.
And as word got out that Simon was in Leek, dozens of Corrie fans turned up outside the Sheepmarket shop to catch a glimpse of the glammed-up actor and give him a wave.
Businessman Stephen, aged 48, said: “Simon’s been a friend of ours for 10 years and he offered to come and give us a boost with one of the sales. It’s funny because to us he’s just a friend, but he’s somebody nearly everyone can recognise.
“There were cars pulling up outside and loads of people in the street waving through the window. It was crazy. We had 338 shares on the night and 40,000 views.
Simon looked a million miles away from his Corrie character as he put on a tight-fitting silver catsuit and Elton John-style glasses complete with feather boa and platform shoes for one ensemble. In a quick change, the actor then went on to show off a floor-length floral gown with plenty of accecories.
Stephen and Jason, aged 50, have been hosting the live sales at the shop for the last 13 weeks every Thursday.
The next sale is on Facebook tonight from 8.30pm. It usually lasts about two hours.
