GROCERY FIRM AIMS TO DELIVER 20,000 JOBS ACROSS COUNTRY

Beelivery has seen lockdown expansion

ON-DEMAND grocery delivery service Beelivery has pledged to create a further 20,000 UK jobs in the run-up to Christmas.

The Congleton company has already created 10,000 driver jobs in 2020 after seeing a spike in demand for its services throughout lockdown.

Now the company – which recently expanded its operation to offer 24/7 delivery, 365 days a year – wants to create thousands more roles by the end of the year.

The majority of new roles will be self-employed, home-based driver positions, but Beelivery is also recruiting for permanent employed software programmers, data analysts, data scientists, operational, customer service and logistics professionals.

The move is part of Beelivery’s plan to expand its grocery delivery service to more than 400 towns and cities nationwide.

Lee Parkinson, co-founder and CEO of Beelivery, said: “Our research shows that 63 per cent of towns have populations of less than 20,000 people, and many of these towns do not have any grocery delivery service available to them.

“For those fortunate areas who do have a delivery service, many must wait days for a delivery slot.

“Beelivery plugs this gap, offering delivery between 30 to 60 minutes from placing your order on our website or app.”

Beelivery doesn’t own any warehouses or delivery vehicles and therefore jobs such as software engineers, human resources, IT and finance specialists, as well as the teams who will pick, pack and ship customer orders, are not tied to any particular location and can be homebased.

Yazan Bin Mohammad, Beelivery chairman and co-founder, added: “Due to our unique logistics model, with the largest network of localised self-employed drivers in the UK, we cover cities, towns and villages Uk-wide with delivery of grocery essentials where others cannot.

“We have already created more weekly delivery slots than are available with Ocado, Asda, Sainsbury’s or Morrisons and have set ourselves the ambitious target to match Tesco’s 1.4 million weekly delivery slots by Christmas.”

Beelivery was established in 2015, initially for people with limited mobility. Today is has more than 15,000 registered drivers who handdeliver groceries to the doors of customers within 60 minutes.

It offers a wide range of products from fresh and frozen meal staples such as meat, fish, bakery items, pantry items and vegetables as well as fruit, snacks, alcohol and home cleaning products.
