MADEIRA BEST VALUE FOR A LATE AUTUMN BREAK, SAYS REPORT
AFTER Turkey was added to the UK quarantine list last week, islands in the sun are emerging as the most practical choices for UK holidaymakers still considering an autumn break abroad, according to Post Office Travel Money.
Comparing prices for meals, drinks and other tourist items like suncream in eight European and Caribbean islands, Madeira was found to be lowest thanks to its cheaper alcoholic and soft drinks.
The so-called ‘garden island’s’ barometer total of £65.53 made it slightly less expensive than runner-up Paphos (£66.40), where prices in the Cypriot resort have risen 3.7% year-on-year.

At the end of the 2021 summer season, the 90,901 gross tonnage Queen Elizabeth will then travel via the Suez Canal and ports in Asia to Australasia for the Down Under winter sun.
