UNITED ARE OFF THE MARK, BUT MISS CHANCE TO SECURE WIN

C&N United picked up their first CREWE REGIONAL LEAGUE Division One point of the season - but it should have been all three.

They were 3-0 up at Sydney Arms thanks to goals from Rees Bennett (2) and Mark Green. But Sydney Arms fought back to secure a 3-3 draw as Ben Reddock, Aaron Davies and Charlie Maines all found the target.

JS Bailey are also off the mark following a 5-1 victory over Nantwich Pirates. JJ Bailey, Nick Raymond, Liam Challinor, Alex Akrigg and Ben Stockton were on the goal trail to earn the points. Broadhurst FC made it four wins out of four following a 4-0 win against Audlem - and they now top the table. Dom Johnson (2), Dan Griffiths and Euan Jamieson netted for the home side. AFC Talbot dropped their first points of the season after drawing 2-2 with Winnington Sports Club.

Lee Jones and Dan Bebbington scored for the home side, with Jordan Sherlock and Jack Duffy the marksmen for Sports.

In the Premier Division, Willaston White Star produced a late show to beat Faddiley 2-1. Faddiley took the lead through Derice Richards, but Star levelled thanks to Pavel Abramowicz. Willaston then squandered a chance to take the lead from the penalty spot, but in the closing stages, Paul Roberts popped up with winner. Betley returned from Crewe Athletic with a 4-2 success. Chris Towers, Jamie Baker, Simon Roberts and Keiron Duckers scored, while Josh Dunne and Matthew Birchall replied for Crewe Athletic. The Lions were too strong for NHB, winning 5-0. Michael Chesters, who came on as a first-half substitute, netted a hat trick, with Danny Roberts scoring the other two goals. Talbot travelled to Wythenshaw­e in the first round of the Cheshire FA Sunday Cup and beat South Manchester Athletic 4-2. Jordan Bennion hit a hat-trick and a there was a further goal from Scott Rankine.

IN the CREWE AND DISTRICT LEAGUE, Crewe Jaguars beat Sandbach Town 1-0 with Adam Grant on target.

Bjorn Hughes scored twice - and sub Alex Hollinshea­d added the other - as Mary Dendy beat Crewe Town Reserves 3-1. Sandbach Curshaws won 10-1 at Elworth Park Rangers. The goals coming from Sam Critchley (4), Gary Cardno (2) and singles for Fraser Keena, Chris Shaw, Ryan Simmons and Liam Tetlow.
