THE finishing touches are being made to Stoke-on-trent’s newest gym – which boasts some of the most high-tech equipment on the market.

The new M Club Spa and Fitness facility has something for everyone – whether you are a complete beginner or on the way to becoming the next World’s Strongest Man.

Thought to be the biggest gym in Staffordshire, the impressive facility is due to open at the Waterworld Leisure Resort later this month as part of a multimillion pound expansion.

It is located inside a 70,000 sq ft building which has been constructed at the Festival Park site.

At the entrance, guests are greeted at the reception which also boasts a bar and front-of-house area.

The next stop is the spacious changing rooms and shower facilities which lead out to the spa area – and a huge swimming pool.

Once inside, guests can make the most of the sauna, steam room, hydrotherapy pool, plunge pool and heated seating. Eventually there will be a large outdoor patio area for sunbathing.

Moving upstairs, the gym is complete with top-of-the-range fitness equipment from Pulse Fitness – such as treadmills, bikes and resistance machines, as well as plateloaded equipment similar to the Hammer Strength branded-alternatives.

Members have access to a virtual personalised fitness plan which can be accessed via a digital screen installed on the majority of the machines.

Alternatively, the screens – which come complete with a full entertainment package – can be used to stream music videos, browse social media or even watch Netflix during a workout.

The huge fitness facility also features a functional training zone and a free weights area, as well as a 50-metre running track. Mo Chaudry, below – who owns Waterworld, M Club Spa and Fitness and Pulse Fitness among others – said: “This is absolutely the biggest project I have ever done and that’s because we wanted to make it the best gym in Staffordshire.

“I can confidently say that this gym boasts the biggest range of fitness equipment of any other gym anywhere in the UK.

“It’s got something for everyone, whether you are a complete novice or the next Eddie Hall. We cater for all types of people.

“We have got a great base of members so far, and now we want to grow that.”

In addition to the fully-equipped gym, there are two therapy rooms for physiotherapy and sports massage, as well as a large yoga studio.

There is also a ladies-only gym area, a spinning studio, and another large studio which will be used for fitness classes.

An opening date for the M Club Spa and Fitness facility has not yet been confirmed, but it will follow the launch of the new Adventure Mini Golf attraction which is being opened on the top floor of the building.

The latest expansion project follows a huge upgrade of the facilities at Waterworld, including four new waterslides, 1,000 digital lockers and a full makeover.

Mo added: “Someone said to me a while back that this is a legacy project, and I suppose it is really.

“It is great that we have been able to create something of this scale in the city, and it’s really nice to have been able to do something really positive in Stoke-on-trent.”
