Now manager Rando Ahmadi says the business has learned its lesson and is now strictly enforcing face masks and visors for all staff.
He said: “It’s been going great since that warning, although it was always going great before.
“We are really sorry that we made people and the council angry, and we are trying to do the best we can now.
“We’ve got masks, hand sanitiser, everything the rules say we should have, and we are following all the rules and guidance.”
When asked about Hangaw’s comment, Rando replied: “To be honest, he didn’t mean it like that, and he is not the only one who might say something like that.
“Obviously it is real. Otherwise people would not be dying and people would not be struggling.
“We are doing everything we can to follow the rules and using masks.”
The National Hair and Beauty Federation says all hair and beauty professionals have been required to wear both a surgical mask and a visor while working since August 15.
It states: “All businesses are required to operate in a Covidsecure way. This means undertaking risk assessments and following the guidelines set out by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
“This includes wearing the appropriate PPE – which is now the additional surgical face mask plus a visor – social distancing, thorough cleaning, and operating by appointment-only.”
