What do you think of Stoke-on-trent being placed into tier two?

-

KADIE CHRISTIAN

I’m not bothered for myself, for some of us it isn’t any different to normal life, but I thank my lucky stars all my kids live at home still. I can’t bear thinking about not seeing them.

JIM SOUTH

Nicely timed for the half term. Infection rate drops, cue the “see, I told you it would work”, kids/students go back then two to three weeks later: “Oh, we need lock you all up again”.

BEX WILLOTT

It doesn’t bother me, we’ve been careful anyway. But I think Newcastle should be too as I think it is worse than Stoke-on-trent.

WAYNE GRATTON

I think within a few weeks most of the country will be in tier 3, nevermind tier 2. None of us like it, probably least of all the government, but it’s unprecedented times and we’ve got to deal with it the best we can.

CAROLYN WOOD

It’s just my opinion, but I feel it’s the right thing to do. The council has been proactive to try and prevent us going into Tier 3. Newcastle, Staffordshire Moorlands and Stafford Borough should also do the same due to the close proximity with Stoke-on-trent, children crossing boundaries for schools etc.

CHRIS MARSHALL

No surprise. I can’t honestly see it making a huge difference as my perception is that it’s not so much an issue with the rules, but with people avoiding them, and that will continue.

MATT HENTY

I think it was going to happen sooner or later.

I don’t understand why people are surprised/ angry. I’d much rather have further restrictions than a full lockdown. People just need to listen and follow the rules and we can be out of it.

SAMUEL HUGHES

This is only going to continue – simple lockdown or restriction of measures is only denying the end result. This will be around for years to come. Protect the extremely vulnerable, but we have to learn to live with this.

RAY DANIELS

Complacency has caused this, as well as people who think they know better, or just don’t care, nothing else.

MICHELE LLOYD

I think it’s a travesty. All I’ve done is go to work or Tesco. I should be going away next week but I can’t go now. All because Stoke-on-trent City Council wants some more money.

LEE DYSON

Who cares as we will be on full lockdown within two weeks.

CLARE HUMPHREYS

I think this country is more interested in money at the moment.

CARMEN PESCOD

If the idiots obeyed the rules, things may not have got this bad. The only thing I’m upset with is I won’t be able to take my mum shopping. She doesn’t go out at all and it’s affecting her mental health. When I take her we have fun and stay safe.

JILL BRINDLEY

There’s not a lot we can do a about it, we’ve just got to carry on being sensible.
